The Drop Zone by colleen is a home based business in central MN. We are huge nature and hunting enthusiasts. The though of making jewelry made from deer antler was inspired by the natural beauty of the Whitetail Buck and the majestic crowns they display with pride. I have created that same natural beuaty in antler jewelry to add that same beauty to your perssonal collection or to give as a gift for your special loved one.
The Process
Each piece is handmade from natural deer antler. I harvest the drops/sheds from our porperty in central MN. The antlers are cut, washed and dried. You may not know this, but antlers are very porous, and can absorb moisture. So I hand paint a clear resin to each slice making is waterproof and it hardens like glass and gives the piece the glossy appearance. The resin brings out the unique design of each cut, making it a one of a kind work of art.
